Local Law Enforcement
Around fifty cars have been smeared with what seems to be blood from a person in the Germany's town of Hanau near Frankfurt, according to authorities.
Vehicles, exterior walls and mailboxes were marked, in some cases with swastikas, they stated in a official communication.
Law enforcement state they were notified late on Wednesday night, when a man noticed that a car in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been marked with a reddish-hued substance.
The liquid had been placed in the pattern of a banned symbol, they reported.
Police then discovered numerous other vandalized cars and house walls in the surrounding area.
These symbols are prohibited in Germany under laws banning the visible presentation of Nazi symbols.
Law enforcement state early analysis indicate the liquid was likely human bodily fluid.
"At present there remains no lead as to its origin; investigators are currently not cognizant of any physical harm in connection with the event," they stated.
City officials stated they were trying "to resolve the mystery" and have requested to the community for details.
An important representative commented the incident rendered him stunned and had to be solved quickly.
"This act hits the center of Hanau and revives the trauma of the right-wing violent incident five years ago," he posted on a platform, referring to the murder of nine people by a assailant focusing on individuals of foreign heritage in February 2020.
