In the final seconds, sheer ecstasy broke out for Chelsea and caretaker boss Calum McFarlane as Enzo Fernández bundled in a dramatic equaliser. The goal left Pep Guardiola ranting in frustration and gifted the stand-in Chelsea manager a truly golden moment. On paper, Guardiola versus McFarlane represented the Premier League's greatest managerial mismatch, making the memory of Fernández's pivotal intervention one to cherish the 40-year-old for years to come.

A Stark Contrast in Pedigree

On the City bench stood the most decorated manager of his time, a man with an unparalleled CV for elite clubs Barcelona, Bayern Munich, and Manchester City, taking charge of his 1,012th match. In the opposite technical area, was a one-time trainer at non-league sides Croydon and Whyteleafe, who had worked in City's own academy and stepped up to make his senior managerial bow after being seconded from his regular role overseeing Chelsea's youth teams.
